WNAM REPORT: Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BMB Holding Bekzod Mamatkulov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Uzbekistan, Piergabriele Papadia de Bottini, at the Headquarters of BMB Holding.
The progress of the project on the cultivation, processing, and export of saffron products by a joint Uzbekistan – Italian venture in Jizzakh region’s Bakhmal district was discussed at the meeting.
The Ambassador highly appreciated the extension of the USDA Organic international certificate for saffron produced under the BMB Za’faron brand. In his opinion, this creates great opportunities for exporting products manufactured in Uzbekistan under the national brand to the world market.
During the conversation, an agreement was reached to hold a business forum for entrepreneurs in the two countries jointly with the embassy to develop economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Italy.
In addition, a proposal was put forward to identify promising areas of cooperation and develop a strategy for attracting large Italian companies to the sphere.The importance of continuing cooperation not only in the economy but also in the culture, education, and sports was noted at the meeting.Such meetings serve to strengthen trade-economic relations between Uzbekistan and Italy.
