ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT): Mian Akram Farid, Chairman of the Employers Federation of Pakistan Central and Convener of the FPCCI Technical and Vocational Committee, has stressed the need for quality technical education that meets international standards for young people. He stated that in today’s world, only those nations progress whose youth are skilled in modern technology.
He made these remarks while presiding over the eighth National Accreditation Council for Technical and Vocational Stream meeting, held under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Education and Professional Training.
Mian Akram Farid emphasized that educational institutions must prepare their skilled students in accordance with global demands to access global markets. This is only possible when teachers are highly educated, classrooms and labs are state-of-the-art. He urged that work must be done on a war footing in this regard.
He acknowledged the efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his team, especially Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Education Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, and other relevant institutions.
Mian Akram Farid highlighted that NAVTTC, on the special instructions of the Prime Minister, has launched international standard courses for youth, especially women, which are in high demand in the global market. Special courses are being conducted to create awareness among students about the growing use of green technology and renewable energy in the global industry, especially in the context of the environment.
He appreciated the services of the National Accreditation Council, which is performing important services for technical education across the country.
On this occasion, Director General (A&C) Farhat Jahan presented the performance of the National Accreditation Council. Additional Registrar of Pakistan Engineering Council Engineer Ausaf Mahmood Malik expressed his views on improving technical engineering education.
Director of Accreditation of the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission, Rizwan Raunaq Rao, presented the recommendations of the previous meeting to the participants, which were approved after mutual discussion.
Directors of Technical Training Institutes, including Director Punjab TEVTA Khurram Chaudhry, Deputy Director Azad Kashmir TEVTA Adil Rashid, and Assistant Director Azad Kashmir TEVTA Sajid Abbasi were also present at the meeting.
