Jakarta (WNAM MONITORING): Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade is targeting to boost the exports of products made by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to US$18.84 billion this year.
Deputy Minister of Trade, Dyah Roro Esti, said here on Monday that Indonesia’s trade representatives in 33 countries are working to support the achievement of the target.
The trade representatives are expected to analyze opportunities for MSMEs to export their products.
The ministry is also conducting business pitching activities with its trade representatives in 33 trading partner countries and business matching with foreign buyers. Through these efforts, the ministry is seeking to bring MSMEs and potential buyers together in various countries.
In January 2025, the potential export transactions from business exploration were recorded at US$5.22 million.
This value includes purchase transactions of US$1.55 million and potential transactions of US$3.67 million in the form of memoranda of understanding (MoU).
These provide access for MSMEs to promote their products in the global market. Meanwhile, to expand market access and increase the effectiveness of MSME product promotion, the Ministry of Trade has developed the InaExport.id digital platform.
The platform connects Indonesian business players and exporters with international buyers. It also serves as a one-stop service center that enables online export promotion.
The Ministry of Trade has also synergized with the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) for the development and empowerment of export-ready MSMEs.
The synergy has been realized through an MoU, which covers cooperation in strengthening domestic supply chains, increasing human resources capacity, and boosting financing support, among other things.
The MoU is a strategic step from both ministries to encourage economic growth through MSMEs, boost the competitiveness of Indonesian products, and expand access to domestic and global markets.
