WNAM Monitoring: The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in an informal meeting of the CIS Heads of State in Saint Petersburg.
The event was attended by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.
At the meeting, the main results of multilateral cooperation in 2023 were summed up, and priority tasks for the coming year were considered. Views were exchanged on the prospects for developing multifaceted relations within the CIS. Current issues on the regional agenda were discussed.
It should be noted that in recent years Uzbekistan has taken an active part in the activities of the Commonwealth.
Uzbekistan has joined over 20 industry cooperation bodies and 24 important agreements in priority areas and industries.
The portfolio of industrial cooperation projects with companies from the CIS countries exceeded $30 billion and covers almost all industries.
The President of Uzbekistan noted the need to enhance practical interaction and increase the efficiency of existing institutional cooperation mechanisms within the CIS.
