WNAM REPORT: At the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Indonesia, the Uzbekistan – Indonesia Forum was organized in cooperation with the Bukhara Regional Hokimiyat and the Regional Tourism Department.
The event was attended by the heads of major Indonesian travel companies, journalists, bloggers, and business entities operating in the tourism industry.
Bukhara Region’s Deputy Hokim Botirjon Shakhriyorov, who congratulated the guests on their arrival in ancient and eternally young Bukhara, opened the event. He spoke about the reforms being implemented in the region in tourism, Islamic architecture, great scientists, holy places of worship, and the unique culture, customs, and traditions of the Bukhara region.
The Bukhara region’s tourism potential and opportunities were presented at the event. In turn, the Indonesian guests expressed interest in cooperation not only in tourism, but also in culture, cinematography and media.
More than twenty B2B meetings were also organized within the framework of the forum. Several memoranda have been signed to increase the tourist flow between Bukhara and Indonesia.
Then, the guests visited the Bahouddin Naqshband Complex. They were provided with detailed information about his life, his outstanding contribution to the development of Islam, and the conditions created at the pilgrimage sites.
In addition, the delegation members visited such sights as the Ark Fortress, the Poi-Kalon Complex, handicraft centers, the Toki Zargaron, Toki Sarrofon, Toki Telpakfurushon shopping domes, and the Chor Minor Madrasah.
