WNAM REPORT: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has accorded approval to a plan for providing youth with training programs according to market and industry skills and demands.
Presiding over a review meeting on the National Youth Employment Plan in Islamabad on Thursday, the Prime Minister decided to personally chair the monthly review meeting on the plan and monitor its implementation.
The meeting was briefed on the action plan to provide training and employment opportunities through various institutions in the next four years.
The Prime Minister directed to maintain regular liaison with local industries for training youth in various sectors and to consider the demand of the manpower in international organizations. He also instructed to establish comprehensive database regarding the skills required in local industries.
Speaking on the occasion, Shehbaz Sharif said the talented youth of Pakistan are the most valuable asset of the country.
He said the government is empowering and employing the youth by providing them with vocational training and necessary skills.
He added that the government is also taking steps to promote the export of manpower by providing international quality training to Pakistani youth.
The meeting was informed that two point four million to six million youth would be supported to gain employment opportunities by providing them vocational training and skills during the next four years.
It was further informed that manpower consumption in the market, industries and international level is being considered to provide skills and vocational training to the youth.
The meeting was apprised that the establishment of Digital Youth Hub is in the final stages and would be launched this month. The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts of all the concerned ministries and institutions in this connection.
