HCM CITY ( WNAM MONITORING): HortEx Vietnam 2025, the seventh International Exhibition & Conference for Horticultural and Floricultural Production and Processing Technology, and Agritechnica Asia 2025, an agricultural machinery exhibition, opened in HCM City on Wednesday.

Organised by Minh Vi Exhibition and Advertisement Services Co., Ltd (VEAS) and Nova Exhibitions BV (The Netherlands), HortEx Vietnam 2025 has attracted nearly 400 brands from 30 countries and territories, including Austria, India, Germany, the Netherlands, South Korea, the US, Japan, Thailand, Turkey, China, Australia, and host Việt Nam.

National pavilions have been set up by Germany, the Netherlands, South Korea, Japan, the Philippines, and China.

Alongside the participation of international enterprises, the exhibition also has business delegations, cooperatives and agricultural producers from the country’s 16 provinces and cities.

This offers a valuable opportunity for local businesses to network, exchange experiences, access new technologies, and expand their export markets, Nguyễn Bá Vinh, managing director of VEAS, said.

In addition to showcasing fresh flowers, fruits and vegetables, along with technologies used in their production and processing, the exhibition features a range of activities that add value for both participating businesses and visitors, he said.

They include seminars, an export forum, a “grower talks” discussion panel, a retailer workshop for the flower sector, specialised exhibition areas, a one-stop export consulting centre, B2B matchmaking, and a VIP buyer programme, he added.

“After six years of successful organisation, HortEx Vietnam has established itself as the largest international trade event in Việt Nam dedicated to the horticulture sector.

“The exhibition not only provides Vietnamese businesses with access to advanced technologies but also serves as a trade bridge, helping expand the domestic market and boost exports,” he said.

This year HortEx is being held alongside Agritechnica Asia, part of Agritechnica, the world’s leading agricultural machinery exhibition, and is taking place in Việt Nam for the first time.

Organised by the German Agricultural Society (DLG) in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Environment, Agritechnica Asia 2025, with the theme “Green Innovations”, features more than 200 exhibitors from 25 countries.

The event focuses on green innovation by promoting farming products, processes, and models designed to tackle major challenges such as climate change, resource scarcity, and competitive market pressures. Additionally, 20 satellite programmes and events will offer multidimensional insights into policy, science, and production practices, fostering productivity improvements and environmental responsibility.

Furthermore, on the exhibition’s first day, the organisers arranged a special tour programme for more than 300 farmers from neighbouring areas to provide them with access to cutting-edge technologies and practical solutions for production.

In his opening speech, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Trần Thanh Nam said Agritechnica Asia Vietnam 2025 plays a crucial role in promoting innovation and mechanisation for green and sustainable agriculture.

His ministry is channelling resources into effectively implementing the sustainable development project of one million hectares of high-quality, low-emission specialised rice cultivation linked to green growth in the Mekong Delta by 2030.

The initiative aims to ensure the sustainable development of the rice sector through organised production, integrated with comprehensive mechanisation across the entire value chain.

“The introduction of Agritechnica Asia in Việt Nam will create opportunities for experts, manufacturers, farmers, and investors to connect, learn, and promote sustainable agricultural initiatives. These efforts aim to adapt to the constantly evolving conditions of agricultural production and business due to climate change and market fluctuations.”

The two events promise to become a comprehensive platform for manufacturers, suppliers, and farmers to access advanced agricultural technology, contributing to innovation and sustainable development within the agricultural sector, he said.
