WNAM REPORT: The Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights (PCCR) is set to hold a Provincial Consultation on Out-of-School Children (OOSC) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on March 13, 2025, in Haripur. This high-level consultative session aims to address the urgent education crisis in the province, focusing on barriers preventing children from accessing education and identifying policy-driven solutions to ensure universal, inclusive, and quality education for all.
This consultation is part of a nationwide initiative launched in January 2025 with a National Convention and Orientation in Islamabad, followed by provincial engagements in Sindh. Now, the delegation is visiting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with subsequent consultations planned in Balochistan and Punjab to formulate a comprehensive national strategy on OOSC.
The delegation is headed by a Member of the National Assembly (MNA) and Convenor of the Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights (PCCR). The following distinguished members are also part of the delegation:

This consultation in KP will bring together government officials, district education officers (both male and female), policymakers, civil society representatives, education experts, and community leaders to discuss:
The scale of the out-of-school children crisis in KP and the primary barriers to education.
Policy gaps and implementation challenges in achieving universal education.
The role of provincial and district-level authorities in tackling OOSC.
The importance of gender-sensitive and inclusive education policies, especially for girls.
Community-driven solutions and partnerships for increasing school enrollment and retention.
The event will be led by the PCCR Convenor, who will emphasize the urgency of treating education as a national emergency and highlight the need for multi-stakeholder collaboration to address the crisis.
