ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT): A meeting was held today at the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Headquarters to discuss potential collaboration between BISP and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in the field of skill training in emerging and marker-driven technologies.
The meeting was chaired by Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson BISP, and was co-chaired by Secretary BISP, Mr. Amer Ali Ahmad. The BHP team was also present.
The UNIDO delegation was led by Badar-ul-Islam, National Programme Coordinator, accompanied by Farooque Ahmed Siddiqui, National Technical Advisor UNIDO.
During the discussion, Secretary BISP briefed the UNIDO delegation on the Benazir Hunarmand Programme (BHP), its vision, concept, and philosophy, and highlighted opportunities for cooperation to enhance market-driven skill development for BISP beneficiaries and their family members.
The UNIDO team shared details of UNIDO’s PAIDAR project currently being implemented in Sindh and expressed strong interest in developing a partnership with BISP under the BHP framework.
Both sides agreed to continue technical-level engagements to identify concrete areas of collaboration aimed at expanding modern skill development opportunities for BISP beneficiaries.
