WNAM MONITORING: The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received the Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin. The meeting focused on key issues of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia.
At the beginning of the meeting, the high-ranking guest conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, to the Leader of Uzbekistan.
Special attention was given to expanding interparliamentary cooperation to monitor the implementation of agreements and commitments made during the state visit of the Russian President to Uzbekistan in May last year.
The President of Uzbekistan supported the importance of thorough preparations for the second session of the Interparliamentary Commission, emphasizing the need to hold the meeting in Uzbekistan with active regional participation from both countries.
It was also noted that parliaments should play a key role in supporting and accelerating priority trade, economic, and investment projects and promoting joint initiatives in labor migration and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.
