WNAM REPORT: On March 14, a briefing was held in Singapore dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the event was attended by the heads and employees of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Transport, Trade and Industry of Singapore, the Singapore Cooperation Enterprise, heads of diplomatic missions of Central Asian states accredited in the country, scientists and media representatives.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Singapore (with residence in Seoul) Begench Durdyev said at a briefing that important political, diplomatic, economic and cultural events will be held in Turkmenistan during the year. Information was provided on major programs and projects being implemented in the state.
There was also a presentation of the new book by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov “Makhtumkuli – Thinker of the World” and the work of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov “Hakyda göwheri”.
During the event, an overview of the current bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Singapore was given, and a number of proposals were voiced in the context of preparations for the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which will be celebrated next year, the source notes.
