WNAM MONITORING: Azerbaijan, in collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), intends to participate in several road infrastructure projects in Pakistan.
According to reports which cites the National Highway Authority of Pakistan, Azerbaijan plans to invest $2 billion in development projects in Pakistan, with a portion of these funds earmarked for road infrastructure.
The projects under consideration include financing the M10 motorway and the Northern Bypass of Karachi, a 57-kilometer, two-lane highway in the Manghopir area of Karachi, Sindh. Additionally, Azerbaijan may partner with the IDB to fund the construction of the M6 Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway, a $1.2 billion project.
The National Highway Authority noted that further clarity on the funding of these projects will be provided in April.
