Tashkent ( WNAM MONITORING ): President Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved measures for the development of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), with special attention given to supporting so-called “champion entrepreneurs.”
Starting from 1 May, project offices for accelerated industrial development will begin operating in 20 districts of the country, coordinated by a central office under the Ministry of Economy and Finance. These offices will provide consultation services to entrepreneurs, and assist in attracting engineers, technologists, designers, and marketers, including foreign specialists.
Each office is tasked with launching 10 driver projects and five types of products under national brands. It is expected that SME production and exports will increase by at least 1.5 times.
In 2025, 100 billion soums will be allocated for financing project offices and attracting foreign specialists, while another 500 billion soums will be directed toward infrastructure development for key projects.
From 1 July, entrepreneurs producing high-tech products will be able to receive up to 10,000 square meters of state-owned real estate for free use for up to five years.
Additionally, a program will be launched in 15 cities and districts to house SMEs in buildings that were previously used by state institutions.
Government agencies will relocate to new multi-story buildings, and the first two floors will be transferred to entrepreneurs for ownership. The vacated properties will be put up for online auctions for business project implementation.
