ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): Mian Akram Farid, former President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and Chairman of the Central Employers Federation of Pakistan, expressed his delight at the active participation of Pakistani women in the country’s business activities. He stated that women constitute nearly half of Pakistan’s population and their full encouragement is essential for them to contribute more diligently to the nation’s economic stability. The government has allocated special funds to encourage women’s participation in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). He made these remarks while addressing an Iftar dinner organized by the Islamabad Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
On this occasion, Samina Fazil, Founding President of the Women’s Chamber, welcomed the guests and presented the chamber’s performance, highlighting its services in promoting women’s business activities. The Chief Guest, former Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment, Kashmala Tariq, expressed her satisfaction with the Women’s Chamber’s performance and stated that she is proud to be a part of it. She emphasized that Pakistani women are second to none in terms of competence and are making their mark not only in Pakistan but also abroad. The Government of Pakistan is keen to promote women’s development, and women should actively participate in business activities.
Nasir Qureshi, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and Guest of honor, congratulated the Islamabad Women’s Chamber for its active role in women’s development. He reiterated that ICCI has always been a strong advocate of women’s participation in economic activities and is committed to supporting its women members in their business growth. He also invited women to join the ICCI’s delegations for overseas business exhibitions. The event was attended by Shamaila Naz, Senior Vice President of the Islamabad Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rabia Farhan، Vice President, Naima Ansari, former president, and other senior officials and members.
