ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT )“Instead of merely memorizing the Holy Quran, it is more important to encourage children to understand its meaning and message,” said Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood, Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University, while addressing a spiritually uplifting event of Quran completion held last night at the university’s colony mosque.
He further emphasized that our behavior should reflect the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in some way. “If we adopt even a single noble trait from the life of the Prophet (PBUH), it would be a great success,” . He specifically highlighted the importance of “speaking with a smile,” which is a simple yet powerful Sunnah that fosters love and goodwill in relationships. “If we make kindness, good manners, and a cheerful attitude a part of our daily lives, it can lead to positive changes,” he added.
The Vice Chancellor expressed deep sympathy and solidarity with the Muslims of Palestine and Gaza, stating that as Muslims, it is our duty to remember them in our prayers.
In conclusion, Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood congratulated the organizers of this spiritual gathering and the mosque’s Imam, Qari Wisal, for completing the recitation of the Holy Quran. He prayed that Allah (SWT) grants everyone the ability to understand, practice, and shape their lives according to the teachings of the Quran.
Prof. Dr. Moinuddin Hashmi, Chairman of the Mosque Committee, emphasized that only those nations succeed that rely on intellect and wisdom. He stated that Allah (SWT) has made humans the noblest of all creations and blessed them with knowledge and understanding so they can lead better lives.
Dr. Abdul Basit Mujahid remarked that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) established the dominance of Islam practically within just 23 years. “We should first allow Islam to dominate our own lives, implement its principles in our personal conduct, and then strive to spread its message across the world,” he urged.
At the conclusion of the Quran completion gathering, Imam Qari Wisal led prayers for the safety, progress, and prosperity of the country, as well as for the success of the institution. All attendees participated in the prayers with deep devotion, creating an atmosphere filled with faith and spirituality.
The event began with recitations of the Holy Quran, praises of Allah (Hamd), and Naat by children from the colony, filling the atmosphere with divine light and reverence.
