WNAM MONITORING: Azerbaijan initiated another phase of resettlement to the Sugovushan village of the Aghdara district on Saturday.
In accordance with the instructions of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the Great Return to the liberated territories continues.
As part of this phase, 53 families, comprising 174 individuals, were relocated to the village.
The Sugovushan residents being relocated to their native lands are families who were temporarily settled in different parts of the country, mainly in dormitories, sanatoriums, and administrative buildings.
Currently, nearly 40,000 people reside in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur, including former internally displaced persons (IDPs) who have returned to the region. This population also comprises individuals engaged in various development projects, employees of local branches of state institutions, and professionals working in revitalized sectors such as healthcare, education, culture, tourism, industry, and energy.
