Tashkent ( WNAM MONITORING ): The Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the support of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Islamabad, as well as leading tour operators, representatives of the hospitality industry, and media outlets, held a series of Road Show events in Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad.
The events were attended by Umid Shadiev, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, Aftab Ur Rehman Rana, Director of the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, and Alisher Tukhtaev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Pakistan.
The program included a presentation titled “Uzbekistan — The Jewel of the Silk Road,” highlighting the country’s cultural and historical heritage. It also featured business meetings in B2B, G2B, and G2G formats involving tour operators from both countries. Uzbekistan Airways, the national carrier, showcased its offerings and capabilities.
Particular attention was given to the development of pilgrimage, winter, and mountain tourism, along with Uzbekistan’s unique gastronomic traditions.
The Road Show concluded with a cultural program featuring performances by Uzbek artists and a tasting of national dishes, giving guests a full experience of the country’s hospitality and rich cultural legacy.
The event helped strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism and opened up new prospects for the industry’s development.
