Jakarta ( WNAM MONITORING ):  The Indonesian government has received confirmation of an additional quota of 2,210 Hajj officers from the Saudi Arabian authorities.

With this addition, the number of Indonesian Hajj officers for the 1446 Hijri/2025 AD hajj is recorded at 4,420 people.

“We have received an additional allocation of one percent, or 2,210. We will optimize this to provide the best service to Hajj pilgrims,” Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar said here Sunday.

Initially, Indonesia received a quota allocation of one percent of the total Hajj pilgrim quota (221,000 people) or 2,210 officers for Hajj officials.

This additional Hajj officer quota is the result of Umar’s negotiation with the relevant authorities.

The Saudi Arabian government decided to approve the request and the additional Hajj officer quota has been included in e-Hajj.

“I express my appreciation and gratitude to the Saudi Arabian Government for their permission to provide an additional quota of Indonesian Hajj officers,” the minister remarked.

He told the Saudi Arabian government that additional officers were needed to assist and provide better service for the pilgrims. This would also help Saudi officials make the convening of this year’s Hajj successful.

“Additional hajj officers will also help deal with communication problems and cultural differences,” Umar continued.

Meanwhile, the ministry’s Director General of Hajj and Umrah Organization Hilman Latief said the ministry would immediately distribute the additional quota of Hajj officers to service posts requiring additional support.

For example, the number of officers assisting pilgrims during flights has only been allocated three people per group. Whereas usually there are five people.

“We will add more manpower to the post. Likewise for other posts such as worship guidance services, accommodation, consumption, transportation in Saudi Arabia, and other services,” Latief ensured.

Currently, his party has announced the results of the selection of officers based on the initial quota. The technical guidance process for Saudi Arabian Hajj Pilgrimage Organizing Officers (PPIH) will be conducted from April 14 to 20, 2025.

“The officers who are included in this additional quota will be processed immediately so they can immediately participate in the Hajj Officer technical guidance,” he added.

Indonesian prospective Hajj pilgrims are scheduled to start entering the Hajj dormitory on May 1, 2025. The following day, regular pilgrims from Indonesia will gradually begin to depart for Saudi Arabia. from their respective embarkations.
