Tashkent ( WNAM MONITORING ): Construction of a new tourist complex has begun in Uzbekistan’s Ferghana region, according to the regional administration’s press service.
The complex will be located in the “Navruz” mahalla of Margilan, part of the “New Uzbekistan” district, and will feature the Burhaniddin Margilani Scientific and Educational Tourism Center. The project was designed by a Turkish company, whose name has not yet been disclosed.
The development, spread across 35 hectares, will include several hotels, a gastronomic center with a bazaar, a shopping complex, a mosque, parking areas, as well as dormitories, university faculties, and a research center. Additionally, the project will feature an event hall, two recreational parks, a museum, and the “Otabek and Kumush” house.
On April 10, Ferghana regional governor Khayrullo Bozorov visited the construction site and instructed that work on the complex be initiated.
It is worth noting that earlier reports stated that Uzbekistan is working to adapt its tourism services to attract more visitors from China.
