WNAM MONITORING: Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Maman Abdurrahman, is preparing a one-stop certification and licensing ecosystem to support MSME players in running their business.
Speaking in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, on Wednesday, he informed that the ecosystem will include halal certification and home industry food permit issuance.
He made the statement in response to complaints from MSME players regarding the complex licensing and certification processes involved in starting a business.
Abdurrahman noted that it would not be easy for micro and small businesses to continue to grow and survive amid current limitations.
He then asked MSME players to be patient while he makes efforts to improve the MSME ecosystem, especially since it has only been six months since the term of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration started.
“Give us a chance to seriously handle and improve MSMEs,” the minister said.
In addition to the one-stop ecosystem, the Ministry of MSMEs is also making efforts to integrate the data of MSMEs spread across 48 ministries and agencies by optimizing and integrating MSME empowerment programs via the SAPA UMKM application.
Furthermore, to enhance the competitiveness of MSMEs, the ministry is planning to establish business clusters and MSME holdings to streamline the government’s intervention programs in productive sectors.
He called on all regional governments to collaborate to empower and strengthen the MSME and entrepreneurship ecosystems in an inclusive and sustainable manner.
