Given the present economic ground realities the Finance minister could not have presented a better federal budget than the one whose outlines were made public by him the other day in a crowded press conference. It certainly doesn’t. behoove anyone to find fault with the allocations made by him for defence needs of the country. We are confronted with a cunning enemy like India whose think tanks pride themselves on the teachings of Chanakiya the notorious political advisor of King Chandra Gupt Maurya whom he taught how to rule his people with deceit and trickery and befool them with the art of chicanery. The notorious Machiavelli was not a patch on him in falsehood and trickery. We have, to be, therefore , on our guard every minute and in possession of latest war machinery like tanks, missiles and aircraft to meet any eventuality that might be forced on us by the wily apostles of Hindutva. A wisecrack says
Only a dead Hindu can be trusted.

POST SCRIPT: What a pity that right from day one in 1947 when Pakistan came into existence Afghanistan has been playing second fiddle to India preferring New Delhi over Islamabad in every field of life whether it were its communist rulers, kings or those who claimed themselves to be staunch Muslims they have one thing in common: they nursed a soft corner in their heart for New Delhi over Islamabad.
