ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): The 69th National Day of Malaysia was celebrated with great fervour at a prestigious ceremony held at the Islamabad Serena Hotel on Wednesday. Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain graced the occasion as Chief Guest, alongside High Commissioner of Malaysia Dato’ Azhar bin Mazlan. Diplomats, senior officials, and members of the Malaysian community attended the ceremony. The event began with the national anthems of Malaysia and Pakistan, followed by a ceremonial cake-cutting to mark the enduring friendship and growing bilateral ties between the two brotherly nations.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Rana Tanveer Hussain extended heartfelt felicitations to the government and people of Malaysia. He lauded Malaysia’s remarkable progress as a model of economic success and regional cooperation, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthen relations, particularly in trade, food security and economic collaboration.
High Commissioner Dato’ Azhar bin Mazlan thanked the Government of Pakistan for its warm hospitality. He highlighted the deep-rooted fraternal bonds between Malaysia and Pakistan, built on shared values, mutual respect and a common vision for regional prosperity.The ceremony concluded with a Malaysian cultural performance and a dinner featuring Malaysian cuisine.The celebration underscored the strong diplomatic and people-to-people ties that continue to flourish between Pakistan and Malaysia.
