WNAM REPORT: A delegation led by the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Nuriddin Ismoilov, is on a working visit to Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan.
As part of the visit, a meeting was held with the Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sahiba Gafarova. The parties noted that, thanks to the political will of the two countries’ leaders, relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are steadily progressing, with positive dynamics observed across all areas of cooperation.
Ms. Gafarova praised the unprecedented reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The intensification of interparliamentary dialogue, strengthening contacts within international parliamentary structures, and establishing interparliamentary cooperation groups were also highlighted.
During the visit, Nuriddin Ismoilov also met with Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.
It was emphasized that relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan at the level of strategic partnership are developing dynamically, and that regular meetings and negotiations between the leaders of the two countries at the highest level have laid a solid foundation for the further expansion of interparliamentary ties.
Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu specifically praised the well-organized 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union held in Tashkent in April this year, which he described as a notable example of parliamentary diplomacy.
