ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): Pakistan’s efforts in the fight against drugs were widely appreciated during the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Counter-Narcotics Conference held in Islamabad in April 2025.
During the conference, the Director General of Narcotics of the Sultanate of Oman announced the appointment of Drug Liaison Officer (DLO) in Pakistan. This announcement marked a new and enhanced direction in the brotherly relations between Pakistan and Oman in the global war against drugs.
Acting on this decision, Mr. Suleiman Al-Hanai has been appointed as Oman’s first Drug Liaison Officer in Pakistan who has assumed his official responsibilities in Islamabad since June 18, 2025.
The appointment of the Drug Liaison Officer signifies a major milestone in strengthening bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Oman, particularly in the exchange of intelligence and joint efforts against international drug trafficking networks.
Mr. Al-Hanai’s arrival reflects the shared vision that both Pakistan and Oman are committed not only to protecting their own societies but also to establishing a drug-free environment across the Gulf and South Asian regions.
