 A Noble example of parsimony

When the first Cabinet of the then NWFP  was formed it consisted only of five ministers who ran that province much better than over thirty ministers who administer it today .  Syed Faridullah Shah the then secretary of the first CM of the province once told me that there were only five official cars available in the pool of official vehicles.  When one out of those was earmarked for the use of CM  the question arose how to allot the remaining  four  among  five ministers. The issue was solved by deciding that on the day any  minister was on a visit outside Peshawar one will remain in his office and this formula was acted upon for one full year till a new vehicle was purchased when the finances of the province improved. Can we find any such example of parsimony and austerity among those who move in the corridors of power today?

Post Script: Allon Musk is a highly ambitious man. He has made  a big fortune in the land of opportunities, America  where today he is said to be the richest business tycoon.  There are many who believe that he has an eye on the White House and wants to become its next tenant by being American president in the next polls due two years away but the greatest obstacle in his way is American law which allows only the natural born person in the US  to become US  president whereas he was born in South Africa. He is very close to President Trump. People say he might try to sponsor an amendment in the American constitution for paving his  way to contest presidential polls.
