Jakarta ( WNAM MONITORING): President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that Indonesia remains a region of peace amid a global landscape increasingly shaped by conflict.
He made the remarks during the groundbreaking ceremony for the Integrated Electric Vehicle Battery Industry Ecosystem by the ANTAM-IBC-CBL consortium, held at Artha Industrial Hills in Karawang, West Java, on Sunday.
“I extend my congratulations to all parties involved, and my thanks to our friends from CATL in China. I believe this partnership is highly important and mutually beneficial. While the world is filled with conflict, our region remains at peace,” said President Prabowo.
He stressed that peace is a prerequisite for prosperity. For this reason, Indonesia consistently adopts cooperation and collaboration as the foundation for its international relations.
President Prabowo also underlined Indonesia’s commitment to a balanced, non-hostile approach in diplomacy, quoting a Chinese proverb: “A thousand friends are too few, but even one enemy is too many.”
“I have adopted this Chinese philosophy,” he added.
The President expressed appreciation to all parties involved in the project, particularly the Chinese partners, noting the collaboration as a strategic and mutually beneficial initiative in the face of global challenges.
He further highlighted the EV battery project as clear evidence of Indonesia’s strong commitment to energy transition.
Through this partnership, he said, the country aims to accelerate the development of renewable and environmentally friendly energy.
“We are partnering with our friends from China. Together, we are working on what I would call a colossal effort—an extraordinary breakthrough. This initiative helps us generate renewable and eco-friendly energy, which is a global aspiration,” he stated.
