He said that :-
In a significant development, China’s Global Security Initiative (GSI) has garnered widespread attention and support from the international community. Introduced by President Xi Jinping in 2022, the GSI represents China’s commitment to promoting shared security, sovereignty, cooperation, and sustainability.
The GSI is built on six comprehensive principles, including common, comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable security; respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity; upholding the purposes and principles of the UN Charter; indivisible security community; conflict resolution through dialogue and consultation; and traditional and non-traditional security.
These principles aim to promote a holistic approach to global security, emphasizing mutual respect, peaceful dialogue, and cooperation. The GSI also seeks to address the limitations of the current international security architecture, which is often characterized by power politics and bloc confrontations.
The initiative has received widespread support from over 120 countries and many international organizations, particularly in the Global South. However, some countries, including the US and its allies, have expressed skepticism about the GSI, viewing it as a challenge to the existing global order.
Despite these concerns, China remains committed to promoting the GSI as a means of building a more equitable and sustainable world order. The initiative is fully integrated with China’s other global initiatives, including the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the Global Development Initiative (GDI), and the Global Civilization Initiative (GCI).
As the world continues to grapple with complex security challenges, the GSI offers a promising vision for a more cooperative and peaceful future. China’s commitment to the GSI reflects its growing role as a responsible global player, and its determination to promote a more just and sustainable world order.
The international community is encouraged to engage with the GSI and explore ways to promote shared security and cooperation. Together, we can build a more peaceful and prosperous world for future generations.
