Jakarta (WNAM MONITORING ):  President Prabowo Subianto stated that Indonesia’s flagship programs, particularly the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) initiative, have attracted many international attention.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 2025 Congress of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) on Sunday evening, he stated that the program has been widely discussed in global forums due to its unprecedented scale.

“The Free Nutritious Meals program is being talked about abroad. No other country has implemented a program of this magnitude,” Prabowo remarked.

Since its launch in January, the program has so far benefited over 6 million children and pregnant women.

Prabowo expressed optimism that the number of beneficiaries would rise sharply to over 20 million by the end of August, with the potential to reach 25 million.

By the end of this week, a total of 2,109 kitchens — officially called as Nutrition Service Units (SPPGs) — had been established and were operational — an increase of 111 units since Monday (July 14).

The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) reported that as of the same period, the number of beneficiaries reached nearly 6,4 million people across the country.

On the same occasion, Prabowo also highlighted the government’s achievements in strengthening national food security.

He highlighted that for the first time in history, Indonesia’s rice reserves have exceeded 4.2 million tons.

In addition, corn production has risen by 30 percent, while rice production has surged by 48 percent.

According to Prabowo, these milestones indicate that Indonesia is on the right track in building a resilient food system and laying a strong foundation for long-term national welfare.
