WNAM MONITORING: The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) plans to participate at a high level in the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3), which will be held in Avaza from August 5 to 8, 2025. IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi announced this during a meeting with Turkmenistan’s Permanent Representative to the IAEA and Ambassador to Austria, Hemra Amannazarov.
The two sides discussed the current state of cooperation and outlined steps to further strengthen it, including the development of a new Country Programme Framework for 2025–2029.
Particular attention was given to Turkmenistan’s intention to join the IAEA Agreement on the Privileges and Immunities, as well as preparations for the country’s delegation to participate in the 69th IAEA General Conference, scheduled for September. The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Austria reported the meeting on Monday.
On the same day, Ambassador Amannazarov also met with Sepp Schellhorn, State Secretary of Austria’s Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs. Their talks centered on bilateral cooperation and coordinating joint efforts ahead of LLDC3.
