Key meetings aimed at further strengthening mutually beneficial relations

WNAM REPORT: As part of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva held several important meetings.

In particular, during the events dedicated to the national days of the Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan, she met with Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice President for Medical Activities of the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

During the discussion, it was emphasized that, thanks to the active efforts of the heads of state, the centuries-old friendship uniting the peoples of the region is being steadily strengthened and elevated to the level of strategic partnership.

The parties also discussed ways to enhance mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation and to hold joint cultural events regularly.At the meeting with Ana Isabel Xavier, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Portugal, the current pace of Uzbekistan’s investment development was highly praised.

During the dialogue, Ms. Ana Isabel Xavier expressed interest in further expanding trade and economic relations between the two countries.

Particular attention was given to strengthening cooperation in education, tourism, and culture, as well as developing interregional ties.

It was emphasized that Portugal is one of Uzbekistan’s key partners within the European Union. The parties agreed to reinforce mutual support practices within international organizations.
