Pakistan Business Delegation Explores Trade Opportunities in Rwanda

ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): A four-member delegation of prominent Pakistani businessmen, led by Chaudhry Mohammad Waseem, Executive Member of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has arrived in Kigali, Rwanda to explore trade and business opportunities between the two countries. The delegation, comprising Chaudhry Irfan, Chaudhry Shamraiz, Sohail Sannan Khan, and Ghazanfar Bhutta, aims to strengthen economic ties and identify potential areas of cooperation.

Upon arrival, the delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Pakistan High Commission in Kigali, where they met with Charge d’Affaires Pervaiz Bhatti. Mr. Bhatti warmly welcomed the delegation and highlighted the vast potential for trade and investment between Pakistan and Rwanda. He briefed the delegation on the most sought-after export items in Rwanda, such as rice etc. providing valuable insights to facilitate their business endeavors.

Notably, Sohail Sannan Khan, the Pakistani businessman who has been settled in Kigali for the past five years is known for extending warm hospitality to every Pakistani visitor and goes above and beyond to facilitate them by resolving their problems, leveraging his strong connections with both the Pakistan High Commission and Rwandan authorities. His efforts have not only earned him recognition as a bridge between the two nations but also as a serious friend of Rwanda, contributing significantly to boosting trade relations between the two countries.

During their stay, the delegation is scheduled to hold meetings with Rwandan business leaders across various sectors, including B2B meetings, to explore potential partnerships and collaborations. The delegation will also visit the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) to discuss investment opportunities, regulatory frameworks, and potential areas of cooperation. This visit aims to facilitate a better understanding of Rwanda’s business environment and identify potential investment avenues.

The delegation also had the opportunity to meet with the High Commissioner at the Rwandan High Commission in Islamabad prior to their visit, gaining first-hand knowledge of the business prospects in Rwanda.

The delegation’s visit is a significant step towards enhancing economic cooperation between Pakistan and Rwanda. By fostering stronger trade ties, both countries can benefit from each other’s expertise, resources, and markets.
