ICCI President: Govt must take bold steps for development of human capital

ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ):  President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) Nasir Mansoor Qureshi has emphasized that in today’s world, where science, technology and innovation determine the development trajectory of nations, investment in human capital is the most crucial pillar for sustainable economic and social progress.
He said that education is the backbone of human capital and stressed the urgent need for creating a modern education system aligned with international standards, one that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and professionalism among the youth. “Training our younger generation with advanced knowledge and practical skills is imperative so they can compete globally and find opportunities in high-income sectors,” he added.
Nasir Mansoor Qureshi underlined that health is equally vital for national prosperity, as a strong and healthy society forms the foundation of economic productivity. He called upon the government to prioritize investment in modern healthcare infrastructure, including state-of-the-art medical centres, and to ensure easy access to quality healthcare services for all citizens.
The ICCI President further stated that promoting equality and inclusivity, regardless of gender, social status, or ethnicity, is essential to build a just society where every citizen can unlock his or her potential and contribute positively to national progress.
He also highlighted the role of ICCI in this regard, stating that the Chamber is not only working for the promotion of trade and industry but is also playing a proactive role in policy advocacy for education, skills development, and healthcare reforms. ICCI provides a platform for dialogue between government, academia, and the business community to foster initiatives that enhance human capital and strengthen the socio-economic fabric of the country.
He urged the government to take bold steps for the development of human capital, stressing that this is not merely an investment in education and health, but a strategic investment in the nation’s future. “Educated, healthy and motivated citizens will serve as the real driving force behind Pakistan’s sustainable economic growth and social development in the coming years,” he concluded.
