WNAM MONITORING:  “Each law is not just a legal document, but also the crystallization of the wisdom, will, and aspirations of the people”, said Party General Secretary To Lam at the 1st Congress of the National Assembly Party Organization for the 2025–2030 term in Hanoi on Thursday.

In his speech, the Party General Secretary emphasized that Vietnam is entering a new stage of development with its two centenary goals, setting high demands and major tasks for the National Assembly, particularly in institutional reform. He urged National Assembly deputies, officials, Party members, civil servants, and staff to heighten political resolve, renew their mindset, and take decisive action to contribute to national progress.

The Party General Secretary outlined key orientations for the Congress to deliberate, clarify, and refine, stressing the need to strengthen the people-centered approach in all activities of the National Assembly.

The Party leader said:  “Each law is not just a legal text but needs to embody the wisdom, will, and aspirations of the people. A National Assembly deputy is not merely a lawmaker, supervisor, or decision-maker, but first and foremost a representative of the voters, a faithful advocate of the voices, aspirations, and legitimate interests of the voters and the entire nation. Each deputy must serve as a reliable bridge, bringing the breath of real life into the Assembly and returning the Assembly’s sound decisions to everyday life, thereby improving the people’s living standards in all aspects.”

In the time ahead, the Party General Secretary called for continued innovation in thinking and leadership, with the National Assembly fulfilling its three core functions of legislation, supreme oversight, and decision-making on the country’s vital matters. He said legislative work must be pioneering and guiding national development while oversight must go in-depth and focus on pressing issues such as land management, natural resources, environmental protection, anti-corruption and anti-waste, and the safeguarding of human rights and citizens’ rights.

After two working days, the 1st Congress of the Party Organization of the National Assembly for the 2025–2030 term concluded on Thursday  having completed all its agenda.
