WNAM REPORT: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has held separate meetings with Venezuelan, Ugandan, and Chinese diplomats in New York, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly (UNGA).
Araghchi met and held talks with his Venezuelan counterpart, Yvan Gil Pinto, on Friday. In another meeting, the top Iranian diplomat met with Henry Oryem, Minister for Foreign Affairs in charge of International Affairs of Uganda, in New York.
Also, Araghchi met with the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of China on the sidelines of the annual UN General Assembly session.
The 80th session of the UNGA opened on September 9. The general debate, which gets underway on September 23, will see world leaders taking to the podium to elaborate on their priorities to a global audience. This year’s General Assembly takes place under the theme “Better together: 80 years and more for peace, development and human rights,” according to the website of the United Nations.
