ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT): Vice President and Spokesperson of the Federation of Realtors Pakistan, Rana Akram, has said that harsh policies have already caused a significant decline in property buying and selling. He demanded that the increase in property transfer fees be withdrawn to ensure the growth of the real estate sector. He stated that unless the unjustified increase in property transfer fees is reversed, both the property sector and government revenue will remain stagnant.

Rana Akram urged the Prime Minister of Pakistan to take immediate notice of the matter and ensure the reversal of this decision, while promoting investment-friendly policies to bring stability to the market. He said that this measure is further reducing property transactions and eroding investor confidence. The real estate sector is already burdened with multiple taxes, and the increase in transfer fees has put additional pressure on this vital sector of the economy.

He emphasized that the government should consult stakeholders of the real estate sector to formulate a comprehensive and practical policy that not only increases revenue but also ensures continuity of business activities.
