WNAM REPORT: Allama Iqbal Open University(AIOU) has formally launched the “AIOU Partner Admission Portal (APAP)” to modernize, streamline and expedite the admissions and registration process for international students. Through this advanced online portal, overseas educational institutions and authorized representatives can register themselves to facilitate international student admissions.
The portal was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood, Speaking on the occasion he stated that the portal would not only make the admissions system more transparent and efficient but also enhance global access to the university for students worldwide. He added that this initiative is a significant milestone in advancing the university’s digital vision and strengthening international academic linkages, which is expected to increase both the number of international students and the overall quality of education in the future.
The Director, Directorate of International Collaboration and Exchange, Dr. Zahid Majeed gave a detailed presentation on the portal. He explained that in line with the Vice Chancellor’s directives, a decision was made to engage partners at the global level to assist with international student registration, and the portal has now been officially launched.
He further informed that a 26% increase in international student enrollments was recorded for the Fall Semester 2025 and it is expected that this number will rise significantly in the coming semesters through the use of this portal.
The ceremony was attended by university faculty members, principal officers, and representatives of relevant departments.
