Pakistani Business Delegation Explores Investment and Trade Opportunities in Kigali

Islamabad ( WNAM REPORT ): A high-level delegation of Pakistani businessmen is currently in  Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
The delegation comprised Ch. Mohammad Waseem , Executive Member of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI); Ch. Irfan Anjum, CEO, Hammad Engineering Company; Ch. Shamraiz, Director, Hammad Engineering Company; and Mr. Shannan, CEO, G.Box Rwanda. The delegation paid a visit to the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), where it held a successful and productive meeting with Ms. Divine Nakanyange, Head of Investment and Marketing Department, and Ms. Alice Nikuze, Investment Marketing Analyst at RDB. The meeting was also attended by H.E. Naeem Khan, High Commissioner of Pakistan to Rwanda.
Welcoming the delegation, Ms. Divine Nakanyange highly appreciated the keen interest shown by Pakistani businessmen in exploring investment and business opportunities in Rwanda. She recalled the cordial and friendly relations between Pakistan and Rwanda and expressed optimism that trade and investment ties between the two countries would further strengthen in the coming years. She assured full cooperation and facilitation from RDB to support Pakistani investors and entrepreneurs interested in Rwanda’s emerging sectors.
H.E. Naeem Khan, High Commissioner of Pakistan to Rwanda, highlighted the strong diplomatic and economic relations between the two countries and underscored the vast untapped potential for bilateral investment. He identified key sectors including construction, engineering, agriculture, information technology, manufacturing, and value-added exports as promising areas for collaboration. He assured both sides of his fullest support to facilitate meaningful business linkages and practical cooperation.
Speaking on the occasion, Ch. Mohammad Waseem Chaudhry showcased Pakistan’s export strength and investment potential, particularly highlighting Islamabad as a hub of commercial and industrial activity. He emphasized Pakistan’s capabilities in engineering, pharmaceuticals, textiles, food processing, IT services, and light manufacturing. He extended a formal invitation to the high-ups of the Rwanda Development Board to visit Islamabad to witness firsthand the business-friendly environment and explore joint ventures with Pakistani enterprises.
Waseem Chaudhry also stressed the importance of Chamber-to-Chamber linkages in promoting sustainable trade partnerships. He underscored that institutional collaboration between the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and relevant Rwandan trade bodies would play a pivotal role in facilitating B2B interactions, exchange of trade delegations, and information sharing regarding investment regulations and market access.
Both sides agreed to remain in close contact and work towards organizing follow-up engagements, including business forums, virtual meetings, and sector-specific exchanges to translate discussions into tangible outcomes.
The visit marks an important step towards broadening Pakistan-Rwanda economic cooperation and reflects the growing interest of the Pakistani business community in tapping into African markets, particularly Rwanda, which is emerging as one of the fastest-growing and investment-friendly economies in the region.
