ISLAMABAD (WNAM REPORT ): President for Tourism for Interfaith Peace and Development and President of Lake Shore Club, Syed Sadat Hussain Shah, has said that in the upcoming budget, the tourism industry should be included on a priority basis and a substantial and effective allocation should be made to help stabilize the national economy and create new employment opportunities.

He stated that Pakistan is a country rich in natural beauty, historical sites, and cultural heritage; however, due to insufficient investment and lack of policy support, the tourism sector has not been able to grow according to its full potential. He emphasized that special funds should be allocated for infrastructure improvement, construction and rehabilitation of roads, support for the hotel industry, enhanced security measures, and effective international promotion of tourist destinations.

He further said that the promotion of tourism will not only increase foreign exchange earnings but will also boost local industries, transport, handicrafts, and small businesses.
