WNAM REPORT: A meeting dedicated to expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in the media sector was held in Tashkent.
The event took place at the Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijani Cultural Center at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan and brought together representatives of the country’s leading media outlets – print publications, news agencies, internet portals, television, and radio.
Opening the meeting, the center’s Director, Akif Marifli, noted that the strategic partnership between the two states provides a strong foundation for developing media cooperation. According to him, thanks to the policies pursued by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, special attention is being paid in both countries to the development of the media and the enhancement of journalists’ professional standards.
Acting Chairman of the Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan, Kholmurod Salimov, emphasized that expanding professional contacts and exchanging experience between journalists of the two countries contribute to the formation of an objective information environment and the strengthening of mutual trust.
During the meeting, participants discussed prospects for preparing joint media projects, expanding the exchange of experience, and developing cooperation between the two countries’ journalistic communities.
