WNAM MONITORING:Around 700 vehicles were destroyed at a storage facility after a forest fire spread to the site on Sunday in Sabah state, East Malaysia.

According to the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department Operations Center, the facility, owned by a local company, is believed to have caught fire after nearby forest flames spread rapidly to the premises, reported the state-run news agency Bernama.

Firefighters managed to prevent the blaze from spreading further and saved about 30 vehicles parked in the surrounding area, the center said in a statement.

The fire was later brought under control and extinguished.
