It is a treat to listen to dialogues and exchange of pleasantries among the members of Britain’s House of Commons.
Time was when Gladstone was the prime minister and Benjamin Disraeli opposition leader River Thames flow close to England ‘s House of Commons. One day Disraeli making a sarcastic dig at Gladstone said If Gladstone fell into the Thames it would be misfortune but if someone pulled him out it would be a calamity.
Lady.Astor an MP once in her speech said Mr. Speaker if Churchill were my husband I would put poison in his coffee cup on which Churchill retorted Mr Speaker if were her husband I would drink it.

Once a lady MP of the House of Commons seeing Churchill drinking wine told him, Churchill you are drunk and what is more you are disgustingly drِunk to which Churchill replied Madam you are ugly and what is more disgustingly ugly but while I shall be sober tomorrow morning you will still be ugly.

During second world war Churchill during his visit of US was staying in the White House with American president Roosevelt who was his close friend too. One morning when he accidently saw Churchill coming out from the wash room of his room stark naked he closed his eyes on which Churchill remarked Come on Mr. president the British prime minister has nothing to hide from the American president.
