RAWALPINDI ( WNAM REPORT ): Pakistan’s Army Rocket Force Command on Tuesday carried out a successful training launch of the indigenously developed Fateh-II missile system, underscoring the country’s growing advancements in missile technology.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the missile is equipped with advanced avionics and state-of-the-art navigation systems designed to ensure greater accuracy and operational effectiveness.
The launch was conducted as part of routine training to enhance troop readiness, validate key technical parameters, and assess the performance of various sub-systems aimed at improving precision and survivability in combat scenarios.
Senior officials from the Strategic Plans Division (SPD), Army Rocket Force Command, and the Pakistan Army witnessed the exercise, alongside scientists and engineers from strategic organisations. The forum praised the successful execution of the launch, highlighting the progress of the Fateh missile series.
Top civilian and military leadership, including President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, commended the team behind the test for their technical expertise and commitment.
The Fateh-II test follows a series of recent missile developments by Pakistan’s armed forces. In September 2025, the military successfully launched the Fateh-4 missile with a range of 750 kilometres. Earlier, a 120-kilometre range surface-to-surface missile under the same series was tested amid heightened regional tensions.
Pakistan has also demonstrated broader strategic capabilities, including the successful test of the Abdali ballistic missile with a reported range of 450 kilometres, as well as recent naval missile launches such as the indigenously developed Taimoor air-launched cruise missile and an anti-ship ballistic missile.
The latest launch reinforces Pakistan’s focus on strengthening its indigenous defence capabilities and maintaining credible deterrence in the region.
