ANF arrests 10 drug traffickers’ in 6 operations, recovers narcotics worth Rs. 2.1 million

Islamabad ( WNAM REPORT): The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) continued its nationwide crackdown against drug trafficking and conducted six successful operations in different cities, resulting in the arrest of 10 accused, including three women. During the operations, a total of 14.845 kilograms of narcotics worth more than Rs 2.1 million were recovered.
As part of its special campaign against the supply of drugs to students, ANF carried out targeted operations around educational institutions. In Rawalpindi, ANF recovered 745 grams of ice (methamphetamine) from a vehicle near a university and arrested three suspects. In another operation near Ring Road, Peshawar, 500 grams of ice were seized from a woman who was taken into custody. Similarly, ANF recovered 6 kilograms of hashish from a vehicle near Islamabad Toll Plaza and arrested one suspect.
During preliminary investigations, the arrested accused confessed to supplying narcotics to students of educational institutions, highlighting the serious threat posed by drug dealers targeting the youth.
In separate operations conducted under the domestic drug interdiction campaign, ANF recovered 4 kilograms of ice from the possession of two women near a hotel in Saranan District Pishin and arrested both suspects. Near Attock, 2.4 kilograms of hashish were confiscated from a vehicle, leading to the arrest of two accused. In another operation near Railway Line Road, Peshawar, ANF recovered 1.2 kilograms of hashish from an accused and took him into custody.
The ANF has registered cases against all arrested suspects under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA) 1997 and has initiated further investigations to dismantle the networks involved in drug trafficking.
The ANF reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating the menace of narcotics from society and protecting the country’s youth from the dangers of drug abuse.
