ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): Chairman of the Pakistan Alternative Energy Association, Asif Javed, has welcomed the government’s objective of shifting the complete manufacturing of solar panels and batteries to Pakistan. He said this significant initiative would substantially reduce the production cost of solar panels, enhance local manufacturing capacity, and promote technological innovation in the country.
He stated that battery technology would enable electricity generated from solar energy during the daytime to be stored and used at night, making renewable energy more reliable and efficient. Referring to the announcement made by the r federal minister, he said that under the new policy, batteries and other solar energy equipment would also be manufactured locally.
Asif Javed further noted that implementing such a policy would save the country’s valuable foreign exchange currently spent on importing solar equipment.
