President ICCI Hosts Farewell Reception for Indonesian Trade Counsellor

ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT): President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Sardar Tahir Mehmood, hosted a farewell reception in honour of Axelsyah R. Miraza, Economic and Trade Counsellor at the Embassy of Indonesia, on the successful completion of his three-year diplomatic tenure in Pakistan.
The ICCI President presented a commemorative shield to Mr. Miraza in recognition of his exceptional contribution to promoting Pakistan-Indonesia trade and economic cooperation. The ceremony brought together leading business figures, diplomats and senior officials.
Paying tribute to the outgoing diplomat, Sardar Tahir Mehmood said Mr. Miraza had played a transformative role in strengthening commercial relations between the two friendly countries through proactive economic diplomacy and close engagement with the business community. He said his professionalism, vision and unwavering commitment had opened new avenues for bilateral trade, investment and institutional collaboration.
“Mr. Miraza has been a sincere friend of Pakistan’s business community. His contributions have laid a strong foundation for expanding economic ties, and his legacy will continue to inspire greater cooperation between Pakistan and Indonesia,” he said, while wishing him every success in his future diplomatic responsibilities.
Speaking on the occasion, Rahmat Hindiarta Kusuma, former Chargé d’Affaires and Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Indonesia, appreciated Mr. Miraza’s distinguished diplomatic services and acknowledged his significant role in fostering stronger economic engagement and mutual understanding between Indonesia and Pakistan.
ICCI Secretary General Ghulam Murtaza also eulogised Mr. Miraza’s services, describing him as an exceptionally committed and accessible diplomat who remained closely connected with the business community. He said his tireless efforts in facilitating business linkages and promoting institutional cooperation had left an enduring mark on Pakistan-Indonesia commercial relations.
In his remarks, Axelsyah R. Miraza thanked ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood and the Chamber for the warm farewell and generous recognition. He praised ICCI’s pivotal role in promoting bilateral trade and said Pakistan offers tremendous opportunities for Indonesian businesses. He noted that Indonesia, as ASEAN’s largest economy, could serve as a strategic gateway for enhancing Pakistan’s engagement with the wider ASEAN market through greater trade, investment and regional connectivity.
The ceremony concluded with participants expressing confidence that the strong foundations laid during Mr. Miraza’s tenure would further strengthen the longstanding friendship and growing economic partnership between Pakistan and Indonesia.
