ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): President of the Islamabad Tyres Association, Riaz Khan, has said that unnecessary taxes, duties, and a complicated taxation system have become major obstacles to business activities. He stated that the continuous increase in taxes has significantly raised the cost of doing business, creating serious challenges for the business community while also hindering the growth of local industry.
He said the government should reduce the tax burden and create a business-friendly environment that encourages investment, promotes the establishment of new industries, and generates employment opportunities. He emphasized that instead of simply increasing tax rates, the government should focus on expanding the tax net so that more individuals and sectors become part of the taxation system.
Riaz Khan further stated that the tyre industry plays a vital role in Pakistan’s economy, and therefore the government should provide special incentives to the sector. He urged the authorities to review unnecessary duties and taxes imposed on raw materials and formulate policies in consultation with the business community to support industrial growth and economic development.
