The fact that after every five minutes there is a road accident in Pakistan and over 28000 thousand people get killed in road accidents every year speaks volumes for the pitiable traffic system of the country. Corruption is rampant at every stage from the issuance of driving licence right up to failure of traffic police to checkmate over speeding and its failure to control mechanically unfit vehicles plying on the road. What to speak of England, even
the Arab Emirates are better than us on this score. They have evolved a very effective traffic system which makes many countries green with envy.
