Look at every field of life and you would find marked deterioration in the standards every where. Legends in the true sense of the word these days are very few to find. Isn’t it a fact that the likes of Hasham Khan in squash, Bradman in cricket, Diyan Chand in hockey and Maradonna in soccer, are difficult to find in these games. Isn’t any one deny that heights in film acting attained by Dilip Kumar, Sir Oliver Lawrence and Prhtvi Raj Kapoor could not be achieved by the actors of world of cinema after their demise. Can any one deny the fact that Bollywood could not produce a movie that could hold a candle to K Asif’s Mughal e Azam.
Music directors like Naushad Ali, Khurshid Anwar and singers like Noorjehan, Lata and Rafi are born once in a blue moon .They are a rare commodity that is why music legends like them cannot be seen or heard now. Scientist like Einstein, Politician like Churchill revolutionaries like Mao Tse Tung, Prime Ministers like Chou En Lai, Political Reformers like Nelson Mandela, Journalists like Walter Lippmann, Radio broadcasters like Bukhari brothers, Film Comedians like Charlie Chaplin, Johnny Walker, Film dancers like Helen, Cuckoo, Urdu poets like Ghalib are not forthcoming since long.
There is certainly a dearth of persons in every walk of life who could qualify the epitaph of legends.
