The happiness of Washington knew no bounds when CIA managed to dismember Soviet union. The Yankees had thought that they alone will now call the shots in world’s politics which has become unipolar. Little did they realise then that China is going to shatter their dream before long. Their agony doubled when Kremlin and Beijing hit it off thus making communist bloc a formidable political entity to be reckoned with.
Putin and heirs of Mao tse Tung were sensible and farsighted enough to realise that their united strength will make them a strong political power which will keep them out of harm’s way. The US has been trying lately to ensure that the central Asian states which once were part and parcel of the erstwhile Soviet union do not reunite again as that would give added strength to Sino -Soviet bloc. America’s all out support to Ukraine is a case in point.
China’s CPEC speaks volumes of political acumen of Chinese leadership. Moscow too wanted to reach warm waters of Gwadar but couldn’t make it despite shedding a lot of blood; on the contrary Beijing reached them without firing a single bullet with astute diplomacy.
