Though quite belated it was a befitting reply to Kabul the other day when Pakistan shelled the hideouts in Afghanistan of the terrorists who have been master minding acts of terrorism inside Pakistan of which the latest episode was their attack in Mirali two days back in which a couple of our Army Jawans suffered Martyrdom.
Islamabad has been asking Kabul to handover the master minds of terrorists activities inside Pakistan residing in Afghanistan but to no avail. Afghanistan had mistaken Pakistan’s silence in the matter as it’s weakness that’s why the military action of Pakistan forces inside Afghanistan was called for.
It is , however, essential now to follow it up with diplomatic efforts to cool down the matter so that it may not snowball.
There is apprehension that India will try to widen the cleavage between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Americans must be laughing behind their sleeves as unrest in Pakistan suits their designs because it would torpedo the gigantic CPEC programme of China in Pakistan. Washington does not want closeness of China with Pakistan.
